 The two-story Keene School opened on October 15, 1888. The school was under the managment of Mr. N. S. McClure. The attendance at that time was only 36 students.
In 1913, Keene School caught on fire. The blaze was caused by lightning striking the building.
New Keene School was opened in the fall of 1914.
Additions were made to the building in 1935 and 1953.
